5 Tips to Improve Accuracy
1. Isolate your shooting finger
You've seen the pie chart at the range showing you how to correct a shot that goes left, right, up, down and everything in between. it's an over complicated. What the chart really shows is what happens when you aren't pressing the trigger smoothly and straight back without pushing it left or right
When you grab anything that has a handle, all your fingers work together to get a firm grip. This happens with a pistol too. Moving your index finger can cause the other fingers to clench and move the pistol off target. You have to learn how to isolate your index finger and press the trigger straight back.
Tip: Practice isolating your finger using a retractable ball point pen.
2. Press the trigger slowly
Press the trigger with controlled slow movement rearward making sure that only your index finger is moving. Release the trigger slowly so you hear the reset click.
3. Don't Anticipate the Shot
Anticipating the shot happens when your body naturally counteracts the upward thrust of the barrel when a shot is fired by pushing your hands down.
